Potage Near is a warm everyday piece made from a functional fabric that combines a distinctive knitted texture with a remarkably lightweight feel.
Russell knit fabric is used inside-out on the pockets and yoke, adding a visual sense of warmth to the design. The fabric features a simple two-layer construction consisting of the outer and inner surfaces. This structure makes the garment lighter than it appears, while the air trapped within the knit provides substantial warmth without adding unnecessary thickness.
Unlike conventional fleece, where the pile stands up prominently, the fibers of this fabric are aligned in a consistent direction. This keeps the volume under control, creating a clean and refined appearance.
The distinctive knitted structure creates subtle dimensional texture, giving the solid-color fabric depth and character without becoming overly sporty. Soft and flexible, it naturally follows the movement of the body. It works comfortably as an outer layer, while also fitting easily underneath jackets and coats without adding excessive bulk.
Rather than simply making the garment thicker for warmth, the fabric's construction achieves both lightness and insulation. Designed to be an effortless everyday choice from autumn through winter and into early spring.
The fabric is made from 100% polyester, approximately 60% of which is recycled polyester made from recovered polyester textile products, PET bottles, and other recycled sources. The material is designed not only for functionality, but also with everyday comfort and ease of care in mind.
